Are you a Revit expert who understands how a building actually goes together? We aren’t looking for a "pure consultant" drafter; we need a Senior Mechanical Draftsperson who lives and breathes the contractor side of the industry.

Join a leading Tier 1 Mechanical Contractor in Melbourne with a massive pipeline of landmark projects. This isn't just about drawing lines; it’s about constructability, coordination, and delivering shop drawings that work in the real world.

Why This Role?

  • Tier 1 Stability: Work on Melbourne’s most iconic skylines and high-tech infrastructure.
  • Contractor-Centric Culture: You’ll be part of the engine room, working closely with Project Managers and Site Foremen.
  • Cutting-Edge Tech: Full BIM integration with high-spec hardware and the latest Revit/Navisworks ecosystems.
  • Competitive Salary: Negotiable package based on your extensive experience in the Melbourne market.

What You’ll Bring

To be successful in this role, you must have a "boots on the ground" mentality toward drafting. We are looking for:

  • Extensive Contractor Experience: You have spent years working directly for mechanical sub-contractors. You understand the nuances of shop drawings, fabrication requirements, and site constraints.
  • Revit Mastery: High-level proficiency in Revit MEP is non-negotiable. You should be comfortable with complex plant room layouts and modular skid designs.
  • Clash Detection Expert: Proven ability to lead the coordination process using Navisworks Manage, resolving spatial conflicts before they hit the site.
  • Local Knowledge: A deep understanding of Australian Standards and Victorian building codes.
  • Leadership Qualities: Ability to mentor junior drafters and maintain the Revit library/standards for the team.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop Detailed Shop Drawings: Producing high-quality, accurate mechanical services drawings ready for fabrication and installation.
  2. BIM Coordination: Leading 3D coordination meetings with other trades (Electrical, Fire, Hydraulic) to ensure a seamless build.
  3. Site Liaison: Visiting sites when necessary to verify "as-built" conditions and troubleshooting design issues with the construction team.
  4. Material Take-offs: Assisting the production team with accurate scheduling and procurement data from the model.
